Relationship & Attachment Difficulties

We support individuals navigating difficulties with closeness, trust, communication, intimacy or boundaries, including anxious, avoidant or fearful attachment patterns. Therapy can help you understand recurring relationship patterns, where they may come from, and develop more secure and fulfilling ways of connecting with others.

How we work

Therapeutic modalities we draw upon

We integrate a range of evidence-based therapies, selecting and tailoring approaches to suit your needs and goals as therapy progresses.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

CBT is a well-established, evidence-based approach that explores the connection between thoughts, feelings and behaviours.

Through this process, you learn to recognise patterns that may be keeping you stuck and develop practical strategies to create meaningful change. CBT is collaborative, structured and goal-focused, while remaining responsive to your individual experiences, needs and what matters most to you.

Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT)

ACT is an evidence-based approach that focuses on changing how you relate to difficult thoughts and feelings, rather than trying to eliminate or control them. Through mindfulness, acceptance and values-based action, ACT builds psychological flexibility- the ability to make space for difficult experiences while continuing to move towards what matters to you.
ACT is particularly useful for anxiety, depression and other ongoing emotional difficulties, supporting you to live more consistently with your values even when things feel difficult.

Schema Therapy

Schema Therapy explores deeply held patterns, known as schemas, that shape how you see yourself, relate to others and respond to your emotional needs. These patterns often develop through early experiences and can contribute to recurring difficulties with relationships, self-esteem and emotional wellbeing. By identifying and working with these patterns, Schema Therapy supports deeper self-understanding and meaningful change in longstanding ways of thinking, feeling and relating.

Eye Movement Desensitisation & Reprocessing (EMDR)

EMDR is a well-established, evidence-based approach for processing trauma and distressing experiences. It uses bilateral stimulation, such as guided eye movements, as part of a structured process to support the reprocessing of distressing memories and reduce their emotional intensity. EMDR is widely used in the treatment of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and can support the processing of both single-event and more complex traumatic experiences.

Enhanced Cognitive Behaviour Therapy for Eating Disorders
(CBT-E)

CBT-E is a specialised, evidence-based treatment developed for eating disorders. It focuses on understanding and changing the thoughts, beliefs and behaviours that may be keeping eating difficulties going, while considering the broader factors that can influence recovery. CBT-E is collaborative and highly individualised, with treatment tailored to each person’s unique experiences and needs.

Family-Based Treatment (FBT) – The Maudsley Approach

FBT, commonly known as the Maudsley Approach, is an evidence-based treatment for adolescents with eating disorders, particularly Anorexia Nervosa and Bulimia Nervosa. It places parents and caregivers at the centre of supporting recovery, initially taking an active role in nutritional rehabilitation before gradually supporting the young person to regain age-appropriate independence around eating. FBT is collaborative and family-focused, recognising the important role families can play in an adolescent’s recovery.
